Craigduff Speyside Whisky Distillery
Craigduff is actually made at Glen Keith distillery so we are slightly misleading you having a distillery page for it. There is some disagreement over whether Craigduff single malt whisky was distilled at Strathisla or Glen Keith.
Craigduff whisky used peated barley from Glen Keith maltings and peated water was also added. There are stories of peated water being brought on fishing boats from Stornaway on the Scottish west coast round to Buckie on the North East coast to supply the barrels of peated water. These experimental distillation processes came from a sister company in Japan and when some peated water was sent to Japan the customs at Heathrow didn’t believe it was just water an poured it away. Craigduff cask strength has only limited supply so buy this special whisky today.
Taste: Nose of sherry and toffee with a rich, medium bodied taste with hints of. Chocolate and coffee. Many add a little water which makes the whisky even sweeter.
