Glen Gordon Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky from an un-named distillery.
(Many experts report it to be an old Macallan.)
This is another bottling from the renowned whisky distillers and bottlers Gordon and MacPhail of Elgin. (See Glen Avon Single Malt Whisky another of their products). This company regularly produce “semi-official bottlings” (sometimes referred to as “bastard malts”).
Gordon and MacPhail have previously bottled Glentauchers, Imperial, Ardmore and Inverleven when the owners of the actual whisky distilleries did not. Produced in the past have been many different series of Highland Single Malt Whisky including MacPhail’s Collection, Reserve, Connoisseurs Choice and Spirit of Scotland.
In 2002 the company purchased their own Speyside distillery “Benromach” located on the outskirts of Forres. Glen Gordon is good value for money considering its age and maturity.
Taste: Medium bodied, smooth with hints of honey and sultana.
