Inchfad Highland Whisky Distillery
Just to be clear Inchfad is not a distillery but single malt whisky produced at the Loch Lomond Distillery. Inchfad is the name of one of the islands on Loch Lomond. Loch Lomond produces a number of single malt whiskies including Croftengea, Craiglodge, Old Rhosdhu, Inchmoan, Glen Douglas , Inchmurrin and of course Loch Lomond. The ethos at Loch Lomond is to produce a wide variety of single malt whiskies to use in their blends to reduce reliance on other distilleries. So they produce single malt which is very mild to the very smoky and everything in between. Loch Lomond is located just north of Glasgow and is one of the most popular tourist areas in the country taking its water from this celebrated loch. Not just happy at producing 8 single malt whiskies Loch Lomond also produces grain whisky.
Inchfad like where it is produced is not steeped in a long history like many of Scotland’s whisky distilleries. Loch Lomond was only built in 1965 on the site of a Britain’s oldest car factory Calico Dyeworks which was owned by the Argyll Motor Company.
Taste: Only available in cask strength and are heavily peated.
